Steubenville Atlantic is committed to making our conference as accessible and welcoming as possible for all participants. This page outlines the steps we are taking to support accessibility throughout the weekend, along with helpful information for participants, group leaders, and families as they prepare for the conference.   • At the Dalhousie Arts Centre, there is a wheelchair-accessible ramp leading to the front doors, along with automatic doors to assist with entry. Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available on the second and fourth floors of the building.

    The Rebecca Cohn Auditorium includes a number of designated wheelchair-accessible seating areas for guests. To ensure a space is reserved for you, please contact steubenville@halifaxyarmouth.org in advance.

    Dalhousie University offers accessible residence rooms in Risley Hall. Depending on your specific needs, there may also be spaces in other residence buildings that can provide the accommodations required. Please contact steubenville@halifaxyarmouth.org so we can ensure your group is placed in a residence that best meets your accessibility needs.

  • Service animals are welcome at Steubenville Atlantic. Please note that pets are not permitted at the conference.

  • At the Dalhousie Arts Centre, assistive listening devices are available to support participants who are hard of hearing. These can be borrowed free of charge from an usher, with a piece of identification provided as a deposit.

    The Rebecca Cohn Auditorium is equipped with an LS-55 Stationary Wireless RF System by Listen Technologies. This system offers a high-quality audio experience, with multiple listening options available, including universal ear speakers, dual-ear headsets, and intelligent neck loops/lanyards. For those using hearing aids or cochlear implants with telecoils, the lanyard includes an integrated neck loop that transmits audio directly for improved clarity.

  • Sign language interpretation is available upon request. Please contact the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth at steubenville@halifaxyarmouth.org to arrange this accommodation.

  • If you require accessibility accommodations that are not listed above, please contact steubenville@halifaxyarmouth.org so we can learn how to best support you.

  • A quiet room is available on the fourth floor (Room 401) of the Dalhousie Arts Centre for those who may feel overwhelmed or overstimulated by their surroundings.

    Volunteers can help direct participants and guests to this space if needed. Room 401 will serve as the Adoration Chapel. First Aid, located in Room 409, can also assist in providing access to a quiet space upon request.

    Youth must be accompanied by a chaperone. Please ask a volunteer if you need assistance getting to one of these spaces.
