5 Ways to Boost Steubenville Atlantic Registration in Your Parish
With one month left until the May 31 registration deadline, now is the time to move.
This year is shaping up to be our largest Steubenville Atlantic conference since 2007, and we’re already seeing groups fill up across the region.
If you’re still trying to get students from “maybe” to actually registered, here are a few things I’ve seen work really well in my own Parish, and hopefully you will too!
1. Talk About It Every Week
One announcement won’t do much. The groups that fill are the ones that just keep it in front of people.
Bring it up at youth group. Mention it after Mass. Work it into normal conversation. It doesn’t have to be big, just consistent.
2. Make It Personal
This is probably the biggest one.
A general invite is easy to ignore, but a personal one sticks. Text or email students. Talk to them at youth group or after Mass. Follow up with a parent (Critical).
A simple “I think you would have a great time at this” goes a long way.
3. Let Your Students Do the Talking
If you’ve brought a group before, use them.
Have a couple students share briefly about their experience. Nothing polished, just real. That’s usually what connects.
(Slightly less effiective, but you can also show them one of our promotional videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6aY1a2kczkXszvMyf_cEeKhZldy9d8Fm)
4. Create a Bit of Urgency
If you don’t name the timeline, people assume there’s lots of time.
Remind your group that the deadline is coming up and that spots are filling. A lot of groups are already close to full.
People are much more likely to act when they realize they might miss it.
5. Make It Easy
Sometimes the barrier isn’t interest, it’s just taking the next step.
Have the registration link ready (www.steubenville.ca/register-now). Send it out again. Walk them through it if needed.
The easier it is, the more likely it happens.
At the end of the day, this usually comes down to being intentional for a few weeks.
If you start now and stay on it, you’ll see the difference pretty quickly.
